MEET ALEX

I’m a software engineer with over 7 years of experience, currently self-employed and working on a contract basis. My expertise includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Android. I’ve led teams at mid-sized companies, served as the sole engineer at tiny startups, and delivered projects for large, multinational corporations.

I taught myself to code while working as a stern man on a lobster fishing boat. During the off-season, I offered to build websites for a number of local businesses. A few took the bait, and I've been developing ever since.

Passions + Hobbies

I’m all about travel, especially when it involves anything outdoors. My family and I love to go hiking and camping whenever we can. I’m also an avid cook, brewer, runner, and weightlifter.

Fun Fact: I'm currently enrolled in flight school, seeking a private pilots license.

Why do you use Union + Co?

I joined Union + Co to stay in touch with the community. Working at home is great, but I love having a place to interact with local professionals. The new space is also a fantastic environment to spend the day.
